The Coordinators of the Priority Areas (PACs) of the EU Danube Region Strategy (EUSDR) are expected to submit an Annual Progress Report to the Directorate-General for Regional Policy of the European Commission on the progress made regarding the implementation of the targets and actions of the Strategy in their Priority Area.

The Joint Technical Secretariat for the Strategy's Priority Area 1a on inland waterways (PA 1a, coordinated by Austria and Romania) had drafted the second Progress Report for PA 1a which was submitted to and approved by the members of the Steering Group of PA 1a entitled to vote, i.e. the representatives of the 14 Danube countries. The approved Report was sent to the European Commission in due time.

The Second Annual Progress Report contains information on the realisation of the targets and actions set for PA 1a on inland waterways of the Strategy during the second year of its implementation. It is available for download here.

At the fifth meeting of the Steering Group of the EUSDR's PA 1a, which took place on 17-18 April 2013 in Linz (Austria), an Appeal of the Steering Group of Priority Area 1a of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region concerning the data exchange in River Information Services was adopted by the Danube states in order to underline the importance of creating or completing the legal framework for international RIS data exchange for logistic purposes. The appeal is directed towards the Danube states themselves as well as the European Commission and can be downloaded via the same hyperlink as specified above.
